When all else fails, grab a cold one and knock it back, even when you're on a budget. Sales of what the brewing industry calls "popular-priced beer," including Milwaukee's Best, Natural Light, and Pabst Blue Ribbon, have helped brewing companies weather the downturn.

Tonights Beercast calls for a chance of a bold tasting traditional wheat beer that has been around since the year of 1417. The 5.5% Hacker-Pschorr, what a great beer.

Todays Beercast calls for a nice strong tasty IPA 90 minute. Enjoy!
When drinking a nice solid 90 minute dogfishead IPA, you must appreciate the taste. Having a strong bite, and a crisp after tase. This beer is one of my favorites, and is not for the faint of heart(NOT TO BE DRANKEN' BY) GUIDOS, BRO'S, DIRTBAGS,AND WHORES.
(SURGEONS GENERAL WARNING)... THIS SHIT WILL HAVE YOU DANCIN' ON ALL FOURS!!!!!!!

Companies Switching From Glass To Metal
In this Thursday, Jan. 26, 2011 photo, cans of beer are sorted at the Baxter Brewing Co., in Lewiston, Maine. The beer company has joined a growing number of small craft-beer breweries distributing their brews in cans, rather than in bottles. A decade ago, it's believed there weren't any U.S. craft breweries canning their suds. Nowadays, nearly 100 are selling at least one beer variety in metal. (AP Photo/Pat Wellenbach)

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) -- Canned beer isn't just for swilling anymore.Baxter Brewing in Maine has joined a growing number of small craft-beer breweries distributing their brews in cans -- just like mainstream mass-produced beers -- rather than in bottles. A decade ago, it's believed there weren't any U.S. craft breweries canning their suds. Nowadays, nearly 100 sell at least one beer variety in metal.
Baxter Brewing founder and president Luke Livingston said cans are good for the beer, the environment and consumers, because they're easy to take to places like camping trips and golf outings. Still, cans in some quarters have to overcome the stereotype of chugging contests or a beer-bellied John Belushi crushing cans on his forehead in the 1978 movie "Animal House."

Worlds Oldest Beer Recently discovered
World's 'oldest beer' found in shipwreck
September 03, 2010|By Les Neuhaus, CNN
- The shipwrecked cargo of champagne and beer is believed to date from between 1800 and 1830.
First there was the discovery of dozens of bottles of 200-year-old champagne, but now salvage divers have recovered what they believe to be the world's oldest beer, taking advertisers' notion of 'drinkability' to another level.
Though the effort to lift the reserve of champagne had just ended, researchers uncovered a small collection of bottled beer on Wednesday from the same shipwreck south of the autonomous Aland Islands in the Baltic Sea.
"At the moment, we believe that these are by far the world's oldest bottles of beer," Rainer Juslin, permanent secretary of the island's ministry of education, science and culture, told CNN on Friday via telephone from Mariehamn, the capital of the Aland Islands.
